Ultraviolet Radiation:

Sun is the primary source of Ultraviolet (UV) rays. UV rays are found next to the violet portion of the visible light spectrum. UV is divided into three categories UVA, UVB, and UVC.

Wavelength:

UVA: 320 – 400 nm
UVB: 280 – 320 nm
UVC: 100 – 280 nm

UVA radiation has a stronger penetration level and is least affected by the ozone layer. This makes it very easy to reach earth’s surface. These UVA and UVB radiations can cause eye damage, tanning and skin aging issues.

BAWA-G eyewear comes with UV 400 protection filters, which block these harmful UV rays up to 400 nm.

Polarized Filter:

Light waves travel in different directions. Vertical light to the human eye is useful; as it helps us with clear vision. Where else, horizontal light just produces glare. A concentrated light that is reflected off a horizontal shiny surface, such as sand, water, snow, asphalt roads or even a car windscreen is nothing but “Glare”. This glare simply reduces visibility and creates discomfort.

A non-polarized, regular sunglass lens randomly filters all the light whether it is horizontal or vertical. Therefore, the glare is simply dampened, but not eliminated. However, a polarized lens eliminates the scattered and skewed horizontal component of light, and only allows in the vertical component of light, which is much preferred for a clear vision.
